I got the long awaited confrimation email from Nike! I'm in the 2009 Nike womens marathon in San Francisco!!! I'm running the half marathon, but at least I know for sure that I'm in! I have actually known for a while, they had a link wher you could check your status, but it was sure nice seeing the email in my box!!
Oh and yesterday I went to Fleet Feet in Fair Oaks and looked at some running tights - My XL's are too big and very loose in several places and the last thing you want to be doing is tugging on your tights in the middle of a run! So I browsed the racks and found the same brand (Nike of course) and the same style and found a L. I kept holding them up and thinking "there is no way these cute little things are going to fit on my butt!" I did that for probably a good 10 minutes and finally the lady there snapped me out of it by saying "Why don't you just try them on??" OK - I tried them on and they fit and actually looked really good on me! I liked them so much I bough two pair!!

Weigh in!!
So I walk into my weight watchers meeting and my parents were sitting there! They had came to see me and support me. Unfortunatley I didn't have a huge loss to celebrate or anything, but it was cool to have them there. The scale says I stayed the same. I'm OK with that - I know during the long run yesterday I didn't do the best job of balancing water in with water out with it beoing so warm. I felt very dry this morning and I knew my body would react by holding on for dear life to everything possible. I'm very thankful I'm not up!

Sac Fit Saturday!
So I was nervous about todays run - not because of the mileage, but because of where we were running - I had my worst run ever at this spot. I thought I would never forget it, but today I put that behind me and I had an awesome run! We did just shy of 9 1/2 miles and it was so pretty out there today. It got a little hot towards the end, but it was a great run!
So I'm not so good at taking pictures while I run, I should have zoomed more on this - but way off in the distance there is a bridge that goes over the water (which is Lake Natoma) - it almost looks like the horizon line, but it is a bridge that we ran all th way to, under, kept going up the trail for another mile or so and then turned and came back!

Even if you can't tell there is a bridge way over there - this is the scenery that we had while we were running and you can tell it was a pretty amazing day weather wise.

BOOK - The Daily Fix - Alexa Fishback
I have stopped writing reviews on every book I read because I am a member of goodreads now and I keep track of everything there - but I have to write a post about this book!
I finished The Daily Fix this afternoon and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to get a little healthier, lose weight, or just feel better!! It focuses on steps that you should take everyday to improve your health, lose weight and feel better. I was pleased to read that I was already doing most things right and the rest I wasn't doing 100%, but some variation on it. It gave me a ton of tips that I will use in the future and some really great tips on eating out! It really made me think about what I'm doing now and the things I will be doing once I hit my goal weight to maintain my weight and fitness level. It's late so I really am not putting my thoughts together like I would hvae liked - but I loved this book and I highly recommend it!!

Weigh in!!
Just let me start by saying OMG!!! - I was up and down all week and really didn't know what to expect - so I stepped on the scale this morning at wieght watchers and the leader says - "You did really well - 1.9 pounds lost!" - I was thrilled, but then did the math in my head and that put me at 69.9 pounds. I asked her if I could run to the bathroom and see if that wold make a difference and weigh in again and she said sure. So I come back and take my ball cap off that is covering my really horrible morning hair and my new weigh in is 192.4! That is a loss of 2.1 pounds and a total loss of 70.1 pounds total!! (also 11 losses in a row!!)
I have earned my 70 pound reward that hubby already let me buy - I got the new Ipod shuffle - it is so nice and we bought it last weekend, so I don't have to feel guilty anymore about using it and not earned it yet!
Oh and we had a substitute leader today and we were talking about walking and running before the meeting and I told her I didn't do a race that just passed because I had a training run the previous day and she asked me who I trained with, I told her Sacfit and she said me too! She is in the same training group I'm in, but with 500 memebers and her being in a different pace group than me, I have never met her!
Oh and Carol, my friend at WW got in to the Nike race as well! It has been a really up day today!!!

I think I'm In!!!!
I have a charge on my credit card from the Nike race!! I don't have the email saying I'm in, but I'm sure they wouldn't charge my card unless I was chosen! And it is a charge - not just an authorization!! I'm so excited! This is going to be a great run and the biggest thing I have ever done running wise. So in October I will be running this in San Francisco! Now I have to get acquainted with a new running term - Hill repeats!

68 Pounds...
So as I was reflecting on 68 pounds lost, I wondered to my self - "Self - I wonder what weighs 68 pounds?" I found this....
This lovely piece of furniture weighs 68 pounds... Can you believe that?? I also found an electric bike, some really big fishies, and some children weighing 68 pounds. Also in 2004 Austria Weighed in With New Coin: 68 Pounds of Gold Worth a Half-Million Dollars. Funny, I have lost 68 pounds and I feel like a million bucks - not just half a million!

So I lied in my last post....
I did run down to the center and weigh in today - when the Wii fit showed me having a loss this week, I had to at least run down and weigh in and get it in writing! I lost .7 this week bringing me to 68 pounds lost total! I'm also very excited about having 10 losses in a row! I would have celebrated that today, but I had to leave the meeting so I could get home and eat and change and get to the race today.

Sac Fit Saturday!
Every Saturday just amazes me how well everyone in my pace group is doing. We did 7 1/4 miles today and it really went by so quickly! The weather was cold at first, but it ended up being beutiful with a slight breeze that felt good once we got running and warmed up. I was a little worried because I was having some tummy trouble, but it didn't affect my run at all. The group was very small today because there are a lot of people doing the shamrockin' half on Sunday and I plan on going out and cheer them on!! I will be missing my weigh in tomorrow, so there will no be new numbers for this week.

Pictures added!
So I know some of my followers read my blog through a reader, so I wanted to point out my new additions to my blog - Pictures!! On my sidebar I added my before picture (this is the one I have printed out and wallet size and I carry one with me everywhere. I have one in my water belt when I run so just in case I feel like giving up I can take a look and see where I came from) and a progress picture taken today after a bike ride - so please excuse my helmet hair!
Wish Me Luck!!!
So today after talking to one of the weight watchers receptionists who also runs (a lot faster than me...) I decided to register for the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in San Francisco. It is done by lottery so I won't know if I get in until the end of March, but if chosen I have commited to run it (and pay the 100 dollar fee!) once I get picked! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us that we both get in, how exciting would it be to both get picked?!?!
Oh and at the end - Your finishers medal is a necklace designed by Tiffany and Co. and given to you by a firefighter dressed in a tux!

Weight Watchers Weigh In!
So this morning I am down 1 pound! I'm very happy with that since we had pizza twice this week, but I had a LOT of activity points this week, so I know that helped wiht the loss. Total I have lost is now at 67.3!
On a side note - I almost didn't get to weigh in today! I woke up at what I thought was 6ish and we didn't set the clocks ahead so it wasn't until I glanced down at the computer clock that I realized I was already late! I made it there just as the meeting started! Whew!

Sac Fit Saturday!
Another awesome run day!! We did 6.75 miles and the weather was perfect! The company was perfect! The trail was perfect!
I was really nervous about this one because on my rest day (Friday) - the day we are supposed to do NOTHING - we helped my older son move. We only moved stuff from one apartment to another in the same complex, but it was still a lot of walking back and forth, and the killer? Stairs in the new apartment! We had stuff that had to go up stairs! My legs really hurt after moving day, but the miles flew by today and I was so proud of everyone in my group - they are all doing so well!!

I other news - my older son works at Circuit city and will only be employed by them through Sunday when his store will close for good - He has already found a job!! He put out a lot of applications and accepted a job with sears working the warehouse which is what he was doing for Circuit City.
I'm so proud of how hard my two boys work!!!

Me - A size 12? Why Yes - I am a size 12!!!
My 14's were getting a little baggy in places and not quite staying up and a couple of weeks ago I ordered a size 12 from Old Navy where I get all my jeans, but they have been hanging in the closet waiting for me to get the nerve to try them on. Even tonight when I decided to get the out of the closet, I help them in front of the mirror and told my self "These are never going to go over my hips!" Well not only do they go over my hips, but they button and zip and I can breathe and everything!! I can't wait to get a few more pair so I won't have to wear my too big ones anymore!!! I'm also going to have to get more running tights in a large - my XL's are not "tights" anymore!!
My Neice!!!
This is Arissa Anne! She is the first Granddaughter for my parents. She is so purty!!! My parents are going to visit her (and my brother, sister in law and my nephew...) on Friday and staying about a week. I wish I could go but alas, I'm not yet retired like they are! I have heard that they have plan to come here later on in the year - I sure hope so cause I can't wait to meet her!!! Welcome to the big wide wonderful world Arissa!!!

Weigh In Day!!
So today I weighed in and I'm down .5 - I was hoping for more since I had skipped a week, but it wasn't meant to be. It is another 1/2 pound towards my goal though! Speaking of goal, I spoke with the leader today and set a goal of 162. It would be 100 pounds lost for me and the only problem I hae with it is it is at the top of my "range". I think it is still a little early to talk about my goal, but then on the other side of the coin - I only have 34.2 pounds left to reach it!
