Family visits!

My Baby Brother, Sister in Law and my Nephew are in town for a few days to visit and then they will be on their way to Disneyland for a week, then they will be stopping by again on their way home. It is so great to see them all, I can't believe how big my nephew has gotten! We went out to a early dinner and then visited at my parents house for a while, and then we decided to come to my house. We had a great visit! It was nice to catch up with what is going on with them and it was wonderful to let the boys play and be boys.

Week 36 Weigh in!

I lost 1.2 pounds this week - for a total loss of 42.7 pounds so far! I had a good week at the gym and my wonderful hubby even joined me on Friday for a yoga class! It was so great having him there with me. I feel like he is truly supporting me and what I do. I'm hoping to make the yoga class a regular thing - it is such a nice way to start our weekend together. Today we went out to eat with my visiting brother and family and I'm very proud of the choices I made! I'm looking forward to another great week!

Remember Me? - Sophie Kinsella

Book Description - From publishers Weekly - Shopaholic powerhouse Kinsella delights again with her latest, a winning if unoriginal tale of amnesia striking an ambitious shrew and changing her life for the better. After taking a nasty bump on the head, Lexi Smart awakens in a hospital convinced that it's 2004 and that she's just missed her father's funeral. It's actually three years later, and she no longer has crooked teeth, frizzy hair and a loser boyfriend. Initially wowed by what she's become—a gorgeous, cut-throat businesswoman—Lexi soon finds herself attempting to figure out how it happened. As her personality change and lost memory threaten her job, Lexi tries to dredge up some chemistry with her handsome albeit priggish husband, Eric, though the effort is unnecessary with Eric's colleague Jon, who tells Lexi that she was about to leave Eric for him. Amnesia tales may be old hat, but Kinsella keeps things fresh and frothy with workplace politicking, romantic intrigue and a vibrant (though sometimes caricatured) cast. Though the happy ending won't come as a surprise, readers will be rooting for Lexi all along

What a great book! I love Sophie Kinsella! Reading her books a while back got me through some really tough times when I couldn't read anything depressing or heavy and this one delivered just like the others did. I could relate to Lexi because she went through a lot of changes in a short period of time and had a hard time adjusting to her new life.

Week 35 Weigh In!

I lost .2 this week! I'm down 41.5 pounds now. I didn't realize when I joined weight watchers that the journey would be so emotional and life changing. I can feel myself changing in all aspects and it is all happening so fast, sometimes I just have to take a step back and evaluate things. It's hard to put into words what I'm feeling, but sometimes I am very uncomfortable with all the attention I'm getting. On the plus side, I got a new heart rate monitor for my workouts and it does so much! I have spent the morning playing with it and I love it! (Thanks hubby!!) It tells me how hard I'm working, how many calories I have burned and lots of other things I haven't figured out yet! I was able to change the logo on the fron of it and it says "You go Girl!" on it now! LOL!! I can also download the info to their website and it will tell me my averages and totals. So nice to have a built in diary for my workouts now!

7th Heaven - James Patterson

Book Description - From Amazon.com - A terrible fire in a wealthy suburban home leaves a married couple dead--and Detective Lindsay Boxer and her partner Rich Conklin searching for clues. And after California's golden boy, Michael Campion has been missing for a month, there finally seems to be a lead in his case--a very devastating lead. As fire after fire consume couples in wealthy, comfortable homes, Lindsay and the Murder Club must race to find the arsonists responsible and get to the bottom of Michael Campion's disappearance. But suddenly the fires are raging too close to home. Frightened for her life and torn between two men, Lindsay must find a way to solve the most daunting dilemmas she's ever faced--at work and at home.

Great book, and a quick read, once I pick up a James Patterson book I can't put it down! I'm proud to say this is the only book series that I am caught up with and can't wait for the next one to come out!

Then We Came To The End - Joshua Ferris

Book Review from From Publishers Weekly - Starred Review. In this wildly funny debut from former ad man Ferris, a group of copywriters and designers at a Chicago ad agency face layoffs at the end of the '90s boom. Indignation rises over the rightful owner of a particularly coveted chair ("We felt deceived"). Gonzo e-mailer Tom Mota quotes Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson in the midst of his tirades, desperately trying to retain a shred of integrity at a job that requires a ruthless attention to what will make people buy things. Jealousy toward the aloof and "inscrutable" middle manager Joe Pope spins out of control. Copywriter Chris Yop secretly returns to the office after he's laid off to prove his worth. Rumors that supervisor Lynn Mason has breast cancer inspire blood lust, remorse, compassion. Ferris has the downward-spiraling office down cold, and his use of the narrative "we" brilliantly conveys the collective fear, pettiness, idiocy and also humanity of high-level office drones as anxiety rises to a fever pitch. Only once does Ferris shift from the first person plural (for an extended fugue on Lynn's realization that she may be ill), and the perspective feels natural throughout. At once delightfully freakish and entirely credible, Ferris's cast makes a real impression. (Mar.)

These people are so weird! But really I can see some of my own co-workers in some of them! Great book and very funny! This is what happens when you mesh lots of personalities into a workplace, you really get to know people, but then again, you don't really know them at all!

Week 33 Weigh in!

Well this week the scale says I'm up 1.6 pounds - but that is OK! I finally got back into my routine of exercising and I know I always retain water while my body adjusts to the new routine. I spent most of today purging my closet. I went from a very full closet to about a 1/4 full closet! I'm currently writing this in a pair of overalls that I can't believe ever fit me! They are HUGE! But I guess so was I. Last week I bought some shirts and I am now officially out of plus size clothing! It was so nice to shop and not look at plus size things! I also did my measurments this morning and I'm down another 1.75 inches in three weeks. I'm down a total of 24.75 inches since September!

Week 32 weigh in!

I lost 1.4 pounds - I am now down 40.7 pounds! I am just getting over being sick and I was worried about this weigh in, but I did well despide having a couple of bad days in the beginning of the week I made a very good recovery! I had two very significant things happen this week that once again points out my changes - the first was I dug through all our saved photos on the computer and found a "before" photo for me. I look at that a realized just how big I was! Scary!! The second was I met with my trainer again to get me back on track and change up a few things after being sick and we talked first about some things and I told him about being sick and that I had worked out a few times but not as much as I had been, and he was very impressed about how I was talking - there was no negative self talk, I took a bad situation and didn't let it get to me and I accepted the fact that I couldn't do anything about it. I just needed to move on from here and get going again.

Bad Dogs Have More Fun - John Grogan

Book Description From Amazon.com - Bad Dogs Have More Fun is an unforgettable collection of more than seventy-five newspaper articles from The Philadelphia Inquirer written by former columnist John Grogan. Combining humor, wit, poignancy, and affection, these columns provide insight into the intriguing and wonderful world we live in. Whether it be writing about animals (from dogs to elephants to geese!), powerful and moving comments about his own and other families, trenchant comments on life's foibles and farces, or his interviews and interactions with people who are memorable and unusual in their own right, John Grogan makes us laugh--he makes us cry--he makes us think.

I loved Marley and Me, so I thought I would read his other book as well. He wrote some really great columns! I loved reading his stories about everyday life, family and animals. I would highly recommend this book!
