Another running quote!

For me, like so many others, running is the answer. Out on the road it is just you, the pavement, and your will."

JOHN BINGHAM, The Courage to Start - (John Bingham's book changed my life by the way!!)

My mind went straight for the "out on the road" part - I miss being out on the road - I did my run on a treadmill tonight because I have to get my runs in now and I sure missed the road. I like having my body control the pace and not a machine, I like being able to slow down and speed up with thinking about it, I like to not look at my reflection in the big window I'm facing when I'm running, and I like breathing fresh air and not the gyms heat....

Oh well, soon I will have some daylight and be able to run on the road again.

Hmmmm On the road again, I just can't wait to get on the road again - everybody sing with me!!

Running outdoors is such a freeing feeling. The fresh air is the deal maker. A fellow BLBE team member here. Good luck!

I've never been a runner but I keep reading so many people (especially Team Angie people!) raving about their mental state after a good run I may have to reconsider my position!!!

You little brat, singing I am! AUHG LOL

I really don't mind running on the treadmill. So many people dread, but I find some sort of comfort in it.

Love the quote!
I run with my run club outside and this year we have had sleet, howling wind and lots o snow. I still do one solo run on the treadmill and do like the change to pace. I never seem to be there when there is interesting TV on however....
Go team Angie!

I feel like a hamster when I'm on the treadmill and would take the road any day :)

For a while I was becoming a runner. Then I got so busy with work that I just forgot about working out, altogether. Ironically, I'd have more energy if I actually gave it some attention!!

So, yeah...back to the gym for me. I'll run when it's warmer. I don't walk anywhere in the winter, let alone run :P

"Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway. We're the best of friends" :D

I agree, outdoors is the way to go. I feel so smothered in the gym and so controlled on the treadmill. The only reason I do it is so my hubby will exercise. If we don't go to the gym together, he won't go.

Love the outdoors!

I too love that John Bingham book. Thanks for the reminder -- I need to find it and give it another read. But my favorite quote from the book is -- "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." That quote holds special meaning to many parts of my life.

Thanks for reminding me about the book with the cute penguin. Off to find it now!

I don't run, but I feel that way about walking. I can hardly wait for warm weather so I can get out and walk. But right now the treadmill will have to suffice.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and becomming a follower.
Keep up the great work!
