It has been an especially trying week and getting to the end of it was a victory for me! I did have a "moment" I wanted to share with you all though!
I work in a library and there is an older man that comes in and in the begining he was grumpy, never smiles, always grumpy, never says more than two words to us when we help him, just generally a sourpuss. I'm closing up and he passes by the door and looks back at me and says "You look great - you have lost a lot of weight." - I reply with "yes I have I've lost over 60 pounds" he says "Great job - you look really great." - So tonight he passes me again on his way out the door and says - "See you later skinny!"
That is just the coolest feeling - first off guys don't usually comment about your weight and for him to it was just amazing!

Easier to resist this time around!!
So there was cookies again today - I only had one moment where I was thinking "I want a cookie" but it quickly passed thanks to me redirecting my mind and getting some gum. (Gum is my friend....) I happy to say I made it the whole day cookie free again!! I keep thinking how great its going to be to step on that scale and see 1 something instead of 2 something - that thought keeps me focused on the prize and out of the cookie jar!!

Weight Watchers Weigh In!
So I'm torn this week - I did finally break the cycle of hitting 60 pounds lost and having a big gain the next week - but the loss didn't put me under 200 where I really wanted to be this week.
I lost .8 - I'm now down 61.5 pounds and I'm at the lowest I have ever been so far.
I did celebrate my loss at the meeting - successful people celebrate success!!
I did everything right this week - stayed on program, ate right, journaled everything, earned activity points and I know I did good, my body just wanted to hang on to a little more of me for a little longer...
here's to a great on program week this week and here's to seeing a 1 in front of my number next week!!

Sac Fit Saturday!
What a perfect day! The weather couldn't have been more perfect! Our run today was 42 minutes - I took the group out a little further to avoid trail congestion when we turned around - we ended up doing 3.1 miles in about 45 mintues! My hubby ran with my group this week. It was nice having him back there. It was overcast so not too many bikes out on the trail today. I lost a couple of members - they moved up to a faster group and I gained a couple of members - they moved to me from the pace group behind me. There will be a lot of that as time goes on and people find their "perfect pace". After we got home we cleaned out a dresser and moved it to my older sons apartment and as I write this hubby is putting together the two new ones we bought at Ikea to replace the short, wide one we had in there! I'm going to head to bed early I think - I like to take a naps after Saturday's run and I didn't get to yet.

Weight Watchers Weigh In!
So today I am down 1.9 pounds! - bringing me to 60.7 pounds lost total. This is the third time I have hit 60 pounds lost only to have at least a 4 pound gain the week after. I WILL NOT sabotage myself this week. I WILL stay on track and keep the goal of being under 200 in my sights. I will continue to journal 100% like I did last week and the week before. I WILL have an awesome on program week this week and I WILL have an awesome weigh in next Sunday!!
So there!!
So there!!

Sac Fit Saturday!!
What a wonderful day!! I started the day a little nervous since I would not only be coaching for the first time, but I would not be running alone, I would be running with a person I really admire - Jen the red group head coach. I wanted to make her proud and I did just that! I was pretty much on pace until we started back, then I got going a little fast, but I didn't leave anyone behind and a couple of them past me on the last half mile and sprinted in! Afterwards as a group we all went and streched and we had a great talk - I can't wait to get to know them all better and they are already telling me they will follow me anywhere! We ran 38 minutes which ended up being 2.5 miles for us.
Hubby is in the pace group right behind me and he had a good run as well. They ended up turning around a little late due to traffic on the trail and trying to distance the groups out better for the way back and he did 2.75 miles total. I'm so proud of him!! He said todays run felt better then his pace run, he was more relaxed and he looked great!!
*Edited to add details about sacfit!* I should explain for all my new followers - I joined Sacfit in July of last year as a way to get in better shape and train for a half marathon. I went from not running at all - to running two half marathons in that season. The new season is to get us ready to run or walk the American River Parkway Half in May. We are a large group that covers everyone from people running an 8:30 mile - to walkers who just want to go out and enjoy a walk and friendship. I have met so many great people and my fitness level is so much better than it was over a year ago. This year not only did I decide to come back and coach, but my husband decided to join as well!!

Weight Watchers Weigh In!
I lost 1.3 pounds! Quite happy with that today - after my weigh in I changed into my jeans and they were a little snug and it is almost that time of the month, so I think I have a little water retention - so I will take the 1.3 loss!!
I printed out my last post "It's all me" and shared it with my leader and she asked me if I would share it with the group. I did and got really emotional while reading it out loud! That surprised me a little.
I'm off to the bridal expo with my future daughter in law and her mom and her maid of honor - I'm looking forward to it - it should be fun!!!
Have a great week everyone!!!

It's all me!!!
I had a "moment" on Friday and it didn't really sink in until I told someone about the story today. Now it gives me goosebumps!
I went to a chiropractor on Friday evening with neck pain that was left over from Disneyland and I have never been to him so he had to do the whole "history" thing. I showed him my before picture (which I carry with me everywhere as my anchor) and he was amazed! His first question was "did you get bypass surgery?" My reply was "Nope it is all me!"
I have a ton of support, but those people can't be everywhere - they are not at work taking cookies out of my mouth, I have to make the choice to not eat them - they are not with me on the drive home when I pass 2 million fast food restaurants and don't drive thru and grab a snack - they are not there in the middle of the night when I could rummage through my kids candy stash but I resist (well they are there but they are asleep!). It is truly all me - Ultimately I have to make the choices and the decisions.
I have showed my before pic to countless people and that was the first time I had gotten that response - but I was so proud of my automatic answer - "It's all me!!!"

Sac Fit Saturday!!
What a great day it was!!! There were so many faces there - some new, some returning and the weather was perfect for running!
I took pulses for retuning people coming back in from there pace miles and once the newbies started I ran a pace mile with my hubby. He did so well!! It was so cool coming in and hearing Bob say something about me coming in with my husband. I had forgotten how good it felt t be back with the group and have them cheer you in after your run!
I can't wait until next week, when we will get into running our mileage!! I missed the group so much!!
I'm going to be the pace assistant (coach) for the 14:30 pace and we will be starting with intervals of 2 minutes running and 1 minute walking. I'm very excited and can't wait to meet the people in my group!

The battle of the cookies - Won!!!
So I knew I had to be good yesterday - I had a coaches meeting for the running group and it was going to be at a pizza place - so in walks our favorite patron with homemade cookies....
I'm doomed - I must resist the cookies! The woman bakes the most amazing things for us and I have NEVER been able to resist them. Well I did!! I cheered when my boss took the last one and I had won the battle of the cookies!!
The meeting went very well, I'm very excited for the season to start! I can't wait to get back out on the trail and back with the group!!
Oh and Pizza went well, I only used 2 flex points!! And for the first time I had a vegetarian pizza which was pretty darn good!! Who knew I could like pizza without meat on it??

Another running quote!
For me, like so many others, running is the answer. Out on the road it is just you, the pavement, and your will."
JOHN BINGHAM, The Courage to Start - (John Bingham's book changed my life by the way!!)
My mind went straight for the "out on the road" part - I miss being out on the road - I did my run on a treadmill tonight because I have to get my runs in now and I sure missed the road. I like having my body control the pace and not a machine, I like being able to slow down and speed up with thinking about it, I like to not look at my reflection in the big window I'm facing when I'm running, and I like breathing fresh air and not the gyms heat....
Oh well, soon I will have some daylight and be able to run on the road again.
Hmmmm On the road again, I just can't wait to get on the road again - everybody sing with me!!

Weigh In Day!!
So today I went with no expectations - I hadn't even weighed myself at home the last two weeks so I didn't know what to expect. I have really only been back on program for three days - so I expected a gain. What I got was a loss of 1.4 pounds! I'm very excited!!
The past few days have been spent cleaning out the fridge, pantry and organizing all our food and such. Everything with a date off 2008 is gone, all the junk is gone, everything else has points values on it and I even sat down and weighed out our snack foods and put them in baggies with the points values written on them to make planning my meals and snacks easier. We went major grocery shopping on Saturday and replaced some things we threw out, bought all healthy choices and even found some new skinny cow truffle ice cream bars - I had one last night and they are sooo good!! We talked today at the meeting about laying our foundation and I felt like I was one step ahead of the game! I'm so proud of myself right now! I feel so in control!!

Sacfit starting soon!!!
I'm *very* excited about this season!
First - I'm going to be a pace assistant! I get to give back to people what I have been given by the group and the wonderful people in it!
Second - Hubby will be joining me!
Third - Sherry - A friend will be joining me as well - it was my first success in getting someone from outside the family to join (as far as I know). She will be joining the purple group that walks and is excited about being part of the group!
Fourth - at the end of the season is my third half-marathon and another running medal!! It's all about the shiny things!! (Oh and it will be hubbys first half marathon - I have to make sure I finish first so I can be at the line when he comes in!!)
Fifth - it will get me back out on the trail because I'm really bad at doing that myself!
One week from today I will be out on the trail! Can you tell I'm excited??

The Biggest Loser Blog Edition Season 2!
There was a challenge by a blogger that I follow (thanks Krista!) for the Biggest Loser Blog edition - and I took it! I have signed up and very excited to have yet another place to be accountable! I'm not going to let my team down!
I went to the gym!
So on Friday I took my workout stuff to work (like I had a couple of times before last week) and actually went to the gym! I didn't drive past it! I was going to do Yoga - but I found out the class didn't start until 6:30 and on Fridays I get off at 5 - so there was a Zumba class starting so I did that! It is quite the workout, but before I started running there was no way I could do a whole group class, I usually ended up sitting out part of it and dying in the corner - but I made it through the whole class and only got lost a few times! I did find out I have no rhythm! I even came out of the room feeling tired, but not really over worked - well that came later when I tried to get out of the recliner to get in bed! Anyway I'm very proud of myself for actually earning some activity points on Friday! The only thing that is left this week is my weigh in on Sunday to take whatever number they give me and move on.

New year - Time to renew my efforts!!!
So I have been having a rough few of weeks (that really turned into a rough month) with lots of emotional eating - LOTS of bad habits coming back - and of course weight gained. I'm not really making a New Years resolution, but I'm getting back on track - I will start today and earn some activity points - I will get back on track with my food, journaling and points counting. I will stop feeling so sorry for myself and start treating myself the way I should be - Like I'm worth it! I will stop turning to food when I'm sad, depressed, hormonal (sorry guys!), anxious or just bored.
I will also have an extra buddy along the way - a lady at work came to me and wants help losing some weight! She needs to do something and she recognizes that and she wants my help! We will be there for each other and I think it will be good! I'm inspired by my friend Tammy who is going to get out there and get active again and I'm so proud of her!! Plus she has the *Cutest* workout stuff ever!! I'm inspired my future daughter-in-law Jess - she looked so great on Christmas! So trim and fit! I'm inspired by a friend at my sons school - she made lifetime a little while ago and while talking to her I realized I don't have to do this quickly (well I have missed that already) but I can do this slowly, get to my goal and be where I want to be in time. She has also convinced me I'm - get this.... NORMAL! I also need to stop bringing the bad food habits home - hubby is struggling as well and I know a lot of it is my fault for asking him to make things and buy things that shouldn't be bought or made.
So Happy New Year!! Time for reflection, starting over and renewing commitments!!
